I was very excited with my free gift with Elle this month, a 30ml Percy & Reed no oil volumising oil. In my last blog I promised I’d do an honest review of this product once I’d tried it.
I have fine hair and a lot of it which tends to get greasy and often lacks volume. I often struggle to find products which work with my hair type so I was excited to give this one a go. I was not disappointed! After following the instructions on the bottle and adding 3 drops to my towel dried hair then drying, my hair was smooth and volumous and not at all greasy. The effects lasted for 2 days which I was really pleased with as my hair can be a little limp on the second day after washing.
This is a product I will definitely be re purchasing!
I love a good freebie and this month the lovely people at Elle are treating us to a 30ml Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil. The rrp of this product is £14 for 60ml.
Percy & Reed Smoothed, Sealed & Sensational No Oil Oil For Fine Hair is a marvellous multi-tasker and a true hair innovation. It nourishes and repairs hair, giving smooth, sleek, silky locks whilst also adding volume. What more could you ask for?
Apply the ultralight, water-based formula to the roots and through the lengths of the hair to add volume without creating build-up or making hair feel greasy. The formula instantly conditions and rehydrates, improving hair condition and creating mirror-like shine, while volumising ingredients work to build body and provide hold, boosting hair’s resistance to frizz and humidity. Perfect for fine, lank flat hair that lacks volume, and for fine to medium hair of any length.
I have a quite fine hair that tends to lack volume and can get quite greasy so I’m really looking forward to putting this product to the test! Watch this space for an honest review!
Did you purchase a copy of Elle this month?
Living in the middle of know where internet shopping is a god send! I’ve used eBay both as a seller and a buyer for some time. Just recently I’ve really started to enjoy bargain hunting on eBay so I thought I’d share some of my favourite recent purchases with you today.
I’m a huge mean girls fan and I already own a “On Wednesdays we wear pink!” top. I love this simple but cute Tee.
Since having my ears pierced for a second time I’ve been on the hunt for some small studs. I love rose gold so these tiny heart studs are perfect and a snip at £3.29.
I own a beautiful guess watch that my lovely bf bought me for Christmss but there are some fantastic super cute and super cheap watches on eBay. This lovely pastel watch was less than £2!!!
Last but not least I’m a big fan of crystal jewellery and I’m going to wear this beauty on a long chain. I think the colour of this crystal is gorgeous.
What’s your best eBay bargain?
This year I have been super organised with my Christmas shopping and I’m almost done! I think it’s because I’m so excited to be back in the UK this year for the festive period. I’d like to think I’m on Santa’s good list this year but I have been a little naughty recently treating myself to some goodies.
I’m a huge nail polish fan so imagine my delight when present hunting in TK Maxx to stumble upon a shelf full of Ciate goodies.
A child in a sweet shop
Like a child in a sweet shop I literally found it hard to know where to look but here are a few stand out items I spotted: chalkboard nails set, dolls house collection, caviar nails duos and the Nail Lab kit. I actually bought a caviar set and the dolls house collection as gifts for friends.
I spotted two types of the mini mani advent calendars and I bought myself one of them-hurry up December! I also spotted some cute Ciate Christmas Trinkets which I was very tempted by- these would make fab stocking fillers.
Gold coins-not the chocolate variety
So let’s talk prices, massive bargains to be had here. All of the products were hugely discounted. I paid £20 for my mini mani calendar which retails at £50, that works out at less than £1 per polish! I paid £5.99 for the caviar duo set which retails at around £15.00 and £6.99 for the dolls house collection which retails around £20.00. My friend purchased the Nail lab kit for a mere £20, I was very tempted by this one too. This one retails at £65.00.
So what’s the catch? Well basically these are not this seasons products, I think the mini manis are the 2013 editions. So as long as you don’t already own these products you won’t be disappointed.
Ladies I have purchased 3 magazines so far this month mainly for the free gifts! I am a sucker for a great free gift 💜
November 2014, £3.80
So the free gift with this mag was a cute metallic makeup bag/pencil case. I went for pink and I’m using mine to store Bobby pins and bobbles in. I was a little disappointed with the quality of this gift, the opposite side looks a bit tacky placcy which is a shame. However some nice one use samples in this magazine- a fragrance sample of Reveal by Calvin Klein- a lovely scent.
Vichy eye contour idealiser care- I’m quite keen to try this one!
Palmers skin therapy oil- I have tried the cocoa butter but not this oil.
December 2014, £2
Well worth £2 this month ladies! Firstly you get a full size nails inc nail polish- choose from 4 gorgeous shades exclusively created for glamour. I went for Wigmore Street-a sassy purple. There is also a Red, Grey and Wine colour to choose from. Secondly a body shop little card of Christmas wishes. This card could be worth £3, £15, £100 or £1000 to redeem at body shop. The best part-no minimum spend. Finally 20% off H+M however there is a £20 minimum spend on this one. Bonus sample (1 use) Pantene Pro V conditioner breakage defence- love these samples for nights away.
And another fragrance sample of Reveal.
December 2014, £4.00
The free gift with Elle is a travel size sample of Benefit They’re Real Gel Eyeliner. I’m quite excited about this on as I really wanted to “try before I buy” this product. You will also find 4 perfume samples in the magazine.
If you only buy one I’d go for Glamour this month, it’s the cheapest option with the best (in my opinion) free gift.
So I did a little Christmas shopping yesterday but I seemed to buy as many items for myself as I did presents! I’m not going to blog about the gifts I purchased others as some of my friends read my blog. However here are my treats to myself!
I was beginning to run out of concealer and eyebrow pencil so I simply re-purchased the rimmel products. I’m a huge fan of the rimmel eyebrow pencil in dark brown, the brush on the lid is so handy! Also their hide the blemish concealer provides great coverage.
Addicted to nail polish
Whilst in superdrug the offers were too good to resist so I also picked up 3 barry m nail polishes (they were on 3 for 2). I went for a matte copa cabana- a coral/red. A gelly papaya- a peachy orange and a sparkly starlet- a pink and gold glitter. The lady at the counter told me to grab another to complete my rimmel 3 for 2 so I choose the matte topcoat to try out. Barry m are one of my favourite nail polish brands. I love the range of products they have to offer and the prices are great!
Help for my hair
Also in superdrug was an Aussie 2 for £7 offer and a friend had recommended the Aussome Volume rinse out mousse, so I really wanted to try this product! I have fine hair that lacks volume and I find mousse really helps. I’ve recently had my hair re-ombred and my ends have taken a “beating” so I picked up the 3 minute miracle colour to try out on just my ends.
Finally a trip to lush around Christmas time could only mean 1 thing- I had to purchase my favourite shower gel snow fairy. I’m obsessed with the smell. I’m hoping I get some for Christmas but if not I have a medium sized bottle as back up.
Once tried il let you know how I get on with these goodies.
Inspired by a blog I follow I thought I’d hunt out some eBay bargains and share them with you!
2 statement necklaces
I 💜 statement necklaces and I usually buy mine from primark so I was excited to find these 2 beauties on eBay. The daisy one was 99p with free delivery. And the pink one was £1.82 with free delivery. Both come in a nice variety of colours. Delivery time is quite long but at those prices who can grumble?!
I love essie nail polish so I’m excited to try out this my perfect pair duo. I love bright colours and I’m hoping they will brighten up these grey winter days! A steal at £2.99 + 65p delivery.
Tony Moly is not a brand I’ve tried before but this full size polish was only £2.54 with free delivery so definitely worth a go. The colour looks beautiful, perfect for a frosty morning. Looking forward to trying this one over a white polish too.
I finally got round to trying one of these out, only £2.99 and free delivery on eBay. I went for Stellar and I love it! A shocking pinky red perfect for Christmas. I want to try another shade now. Delivery was super fast on this item also.
I have a gorgeous Guess watch I wear every day that my boyfriend bought me last Christmas. It’s gold with dimantes and I love it. So I don’t often buy watches but I thought this one was adorable and perfect for summer (I’m in denial about the season!) This one was £1.29 with free delivery. They had lots of pretty designs, I also liked the butterfly print.
Living in a small village in the Lake District online shopping is an absolute godsend to me. What’s your favourite online shop? Best eBay bargain? I’d love to hear from you.
